Situated near St Nicholas in South Glamorgan, Tinkinswood Burial Chamber is a megalithic burial ground that dates to 4,000 BC. The historic site was once a village, but now remains only as a large cairn, under which the skeletal remains of approximately 50 people were found in the early 1900s. The cairn's capstone, which weighs 400 tons, is considered the largest of its kinds in all of Great Britain. Open year round to the public.
